TOOLS WE USE FOR OUR WEBSITE

Hosting: We recommend BlueHost for website hosting. This is the company we use for our own hosting and we’ve been very happy with it. One, it’s easy to work with, from set-up to renewals, everything is simple and quick. And two, the customer service is excellent.

FOR OUR EMAIL

Google Workspace

ConvertKit

FOR OUR GRAPHIC DESIGN

Canva is the only design tool we use. To create and edit images and designs for blog posts, social media, videos, we turn to Canva. While we use the Pro version, which gives us access to millions of stock photos, the free version is a powerful tool and meets all the needs of many content creators.

FOR OUR SOCIAL MEDIA SCHEDULING

Tailwind is among the most popular social media scheduling tools. There’s a free, limited version and a paid, pro version. One of the advantages of Tailwind is the company’s instructional videos on YouTube. There are regular live broadcasts with Tailwind staff and guests.

FOR OUR HEADLINE GENERATOR / CONTENT IDEA GENERATOR

We love Content Wonk’s Headline Generator / Content Idea Generator. It’s a free tool. After you answer a few questions about your topic, the generator will suggest more than 200 headlines. You can pay a one-time $5 fee and get 500 suggestions. After the headlines have been created, you can save your headlines, download them as an Excel document, or mail them to yourself or your teammates.

TOOLS WE USE FOR EVERYTHING ELSE

We use Amazon for our photography, videography and audio equipment, books, office supplies, and more.

We use a Canon EOS M50 cameraIf you’re a new photographer, we suggest the Deluxe Accessory Bundle which includes a Sandisk 32GB card, Canon case, flash, grip multi-angle tripod, 50″ tripod, filters, and more.

For lavalier lapel mics, we use the Slint Ominidirectional Lavalier Mic.

For lighting, we’ve found this video conference lighting kit by Selfila invaluable. It’s great for Zoom meetings and recording from our laptop.

For other video lighting needs, we use the ANBES 10.2 inch Selfie Ring Light with Tripod Stand with Two Phone Holders. It’s an Amazon Choice for “Lighting for Photoshoot.” The light ring is adjustable and has a remote control. It has three color lighting modes with ten levels of brightness ranging from 1100 to 2200lm for each mode. The tripod extends from 16 inches to 53 inches and is very stable.
